I have remembered what I had forgotten...love and joy. The essence of life. Okay I didn't really forget it. I just had a camera remind me in a different way.
I have been going through things that I am putting up for sale on Ebay. It's part of my "going all in". Doing what I can to make a major shift.
I swear everything I own has a story attached to it. It makes being surrounded by my stuff pretty grand. I have a polaroid camera I will be selling. When I picked it up today I remembered it's story.
I took the camera to Sri Lanka in 2006 when I spent two weeks in refugee camps working with people who had survived the tsunami. I took a bunch of packs of film and then took pictures of kids and gave the pictures to their moms. What I had heard from the moms was that they had lost everything when the water came...including all their pictures.
So the pictures of their smiling children were important to them. The line went on and on of smiling kids and their equally smiling moms. I took the pictures..capturing that love in their faces and handed the pictures to their moms who were simply joyful to get them.
Love and joy. Love and joy. I think they are as essential as air and water when you look at having your best life possible.
If you are living a life that does not have a lot of love and joy right now. Make it your intention to find some of both. Life looks and feels different when you add them to the mix.
