Honestly did you? I actually looked at a coffee cup that was chipped and tossed it out. Amazing. You simply cannot appreciate the enormity of this...if you are not a confirmed packrat-a-holic.
I love stuff! I do. I am not sure why. But I love stuff and have carried closed boxes with me through move after move. I don't know what is in the boxes..but it may be vital so up on the truck they go!
Have I moved a lot? Well not in the past twelve years..but before that...like clockwork. I moved every 18 to 24 months for another job. My parents have helped me so many times I have lost count. My dad...has not lost count! Years ago we had just moved me somewhere and someone said how many times have you moved? I smiled and said,"I didn't know". My dad pipes up with a smug look on his face, "24 times at last count!" Yikes...memory like a steel trap! :( damn the luck. Made it hard to ask for help with #25! :)
But it's a new year...I have declared one of my intentions is to clear out the clutter. And I am. I wrote late last year about reading a lot about clutter and how to deal with it over the years. Heh...I have many articles somewhere that talk about it!!! LOL...
But nothing clicked with me until I read about looking at your life like it is a piece of art encased in a block of marble. There is a great piece of art (AKA your ideal life) in that marble...you need to chip away all the excess to get to the piece of art.
And guess what?...my piece of art does not include a coffee cup that's chipped.
