I am the first to admit it...I am on a mission. I am on a mission to clean house both figuratively and physically. Both in my physical living space and my life.
I have carried things for years that no longer serve a purpose or are detracting from where I want to be. Now is the time to let things go...to clean house.
I am invoking the 20 - 80 customer service mindset. It is said that 20 percent of your customers give you 80% of your problems. A line of thinking is to weed out those time exhausting customers and deal with folks that give you business and less trouble. A grand idea. I think you can apply that principal to your personal life too.
So I am looking at where my energy goes. 100% of my energy..where are the drains where I am getting little or nothing back. I am unplugging from them and focusing on things that add value to my life. Things that are a win - win. It is a new way of looking at things.
I have always worked from the premise that I should do things because I can. I am now looking at things from a different vantage point...just because you can do something doesn't mean you should or have to.
It's about conscious choice. It's about fresh air. It's about creating space in your life. It's about stepping into the life you say you want and leaving the rest behind.
You can let it go with respect for the space it did occupy in your life...but that was then and this is now. And now is where we are living.
Thanks for this Jean. I'll be spending a little time looking for my personal "drains" and making some conscious choices of my own. Terrific post!

I am finding identifying them is one thing...saying it's okay to unplug them is another. Oh the lives we lead :)
