I spent time today with a friend of mine who is in the hospital and may not be leaving. He does not have a place to go...and there was sadness there.
As we sat there and talked... we chatted about the places where we have been. And the places we have NOT been. I left the hospital with a level of sadness. A glimpse of a ending to come that is not how he would have planned it.
We don't always get to plan the "end". Many of us prefer not to think about it at all. But I think it's a good thing to think about. To look at how you want the end to look for you.
I think there's a method that can help us out with this. Think about the end. What do you want that to look like? Who do you want to in your life? Where do you want to be living? What do you want to have done that you can look back on and smile?
Once you have a clear picture in your mind of how you want it to look...you simply start working backwards to make it happen. Okay there is nothing simple about it...but there is a path there to backtrack on.
I am going to work on that tonight and see what that could look like. I am going to take one thing I want to look back on and smile and work it backwards. I will show you what that looks like tomorrow. And you can tell me what you think!
See you tomorrow... :)
So very true. We need to live each day to its fullest while we have the day to live and so we will not regret when the end draws near.

I agree many people choose not to think about it but it is an important topic to discuss. I wouldn't think of it until my friend passed at 47 years young with 2 children 1 being my son in law. Three grandchildren that we share. It shook enough to start thinking and planning. Great subject! Great post!
