It has taken me a couple of days to start writing about this. This is serious stuff. If you look around...really look around... some people are experiencing tremendous pain. Life feels very uncertain for a lot of us. I don't take that lightly. And while everyone has to find their way through what it is they are experiencing I think this travel guide can help.
Here's the first thing you need to pack: A clear vision of who you are.
You have to know who you are for you.
Not as a part of a couple or as part of a family who has been assigned a role all these years. Who you are as an independent being who has tremendous worth. Sounds easy? If it does - good for you! But the "who" for many folks is buried under a ton of shoulds and have tos. It makes it harder to find your footing when you don't know the essence of who you are. What your worth is to you.
A clear vision of who you are can give you a solid base to build on and more importantly it gives you an anchor. An anchor to hold on to if your world gets rocked..in NOT a good way! You can be knock on your butt...we all can be and have been...but when you have a clear vision of who you are it can help you regroup faster...and helps you keep moving through "hell" and helps you not get stuck there long term.
How do you figure that out? If you don't have your clear vision of who you are or who you want to be..take time to figure it out. It can start by you making a list of your good stuff. What about you do you like? Are you funny, are you kind...can you be depended on? What traits about you do you believe are important?
Here's a good exercise. Pretend you are watching you walk through a door interacting with people. What do you see? What about "that person" is attracting people...or pushing them away? That's all possible information you can gather to help you have a clearer vision of you.
A clearer vision of you isn't actual a heavy thing to pack. It's actual pretty light. When you drop all the stuff that doesn't define you and embrace what does...you'll be surprised at how light you can feel.
And with all the extra baggage charges there are these days...packing light is important no matter what kind of trip you find yourself on!
